The crew is ready, the ship is about to set sail, but I had to seize this moment to record this video because, lo and behold, the Zepter glasses are here to stay and you deserve to know about them! – says with enthusiasm Maja Bučanin, an extremely popular TikToker who entertains her many followers every day with vivid anecdotes from her extensive career as a yacht hostess.

“Last year, a colleague of mine bought these famous glasses, and I must admit I was sceptical at first. So, he decided to lend them to me for a couple of days, telling me: ‘Here you go, see for yourself.’ And how do I put it into words? The glasses relax the eyes, it’s like some sort of sorcery. And they are so light that it’s easy to forget you’re even wearing them. I feel so much better when I put them on and that’s why I virtually never take them off. And let me stop you right there – this is not a sponsored ad, it’s just me sharing the experience that changed my life,” claims Maja, who, needless to say, bought a pair for herself right after her eyes were opened behind her colleague’s glasses.

Her story checks out – countless other people who had the opportunity to try these glasses said the same thing in their reviews on Internet forums and in the comments. But how exactly do these already widely recognised glasses “work”?

Their official name is Hyperlight Eyewear, and they were launched onto the market by Zepter, whose revolutionary products are backed by years of scientific research. The Hyperlight Eyewear line was born from the necessity to find a solution for the adverse health effects resulting from exposure to artificial optical radiation (such as electronic devices, LED bulbs and neon lights to which we are exposed most of the day), as well as sunlight itself.

These fullerene-C60 doped glasses function as a quantum-mechanical light transformer, turning UV rays into a hyper-harmonised light complex that has a beneficial effect on our body and regulates the biostructure and physiological processes in the eyes, brain, and the entire body.

It is worth noting that scientists Krot, Smalley, and Curl were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1996 for their discovery of fullerene-C60, and this groundbreaking revelation, on which Hyperlight Eyewear is based, opened an entirely new chapter in nanotechnology and quantum medicine.

However, lest we rely solely on these, for most people too complex, scientific explanations, we turned to Mrs Kata Pavlović, CEO of Zepter Croatia, asking her to dumb it down for us and share her personal experiences.

Cordial and cheerful as always, she did not hesitate to welcome us into her cozy, airy office in Zepter’s headquarters, greeting us with coffee, a smile and, of course – the indispensable Zepter glasses on her eyes. Anyone who has ever met Mrs Pavlović is well aware of the fact that she does not go anywhere without them. However, it did not escape our notice that she was not the only one wearing them: each and every Zepter employee we encountered – from the lady at the front desk on the ground floor, the employees in the lift, to the nice secretary upstairs – was rocking Hyperlight Eyewear, in different models and colours. When we asked them why, they revealed to us that they literally save them from going “blind” from staring at the screen all day.

 – These smart glasses can be worn both indoors and outdoors since they fully match the range of sensitivity of the human eye. At the same time, they are not an eyesore because they are minimally tinted and they don’t produce pressure on the side of the head, so you barely even notice you’re wearing them – says Mrs Pavlović and continues:

 – Their fullerene lens minimises eye strain, fatigue, and discomfort while improving vision clarity, making us more productive in our daily activities. They have been shown to improve our performance and cognitive abilities, and at the same time make us feel relaxed because they reduce ocular scattering. That’s why we feel, see, and think better.

Kata Pavlović emphasises their influence on hormonal balance, more precisely the optimisation of serotonin (“hormone of happiness”), dopamine (“hormone of pleasure”), melatonin (hormone of sleep regulation) and cortisol (hormone of stress) levels, thus restoring the natural hormonal balance which is essential for both mental and physical health. This lowers stress and anxiety levels, improves sleep disturbances, and significantly lessens the effects of jet lag.

Hyperlight Eyewear glasses come in two basic models: the first one has a yellowish coating and is intended primarily for indoor use and screen viewing, while the second one is blue, with an extra coating for solar radiation protection.

In addition to these high-quality coatings on both sides of the lens, the glasses also have hydrophobic and oleophobic coating that provides scratch resistance and extends the useful life of the lens while also making cleaning easier thanks to the antistatic material on both sides of the lens that repels dust particles.

 – They are a literal life saver when I’m driving through a tunnel in the summer and my eyes have to instantly adjust to the shift in light, or when I’m driving at night, since they reduce glare to less than 1%, which results in better vision – she adds.

The frames are made from monel, a metal alloy with steel, which is considered one of the top materials resistant to atmospheric corrosion, sea water and various acidic and alkaline solutions. The temples are made from nickel silver, and each model of glasses is hand painted.

In addition to glasses for adults, their offer also includes children’s glasses.

 – Children, as we all know, are our greatest treasure, and we need to protect them from an early age. Light radiation is all around us, not only in the summer and not exclusively outdoors. I believe that people will soon become aware of this fact and that wearing these protective glasses will turn into a lifestyle – she says.

During the conversation, another innovative Zepter product positioned in the middle of the office caught our attention. Its elegant design made it fit neatly into the space. The product in question is Therapy Air iOn and it is an acclaimed and award-winning air purifier.

 – Do you feel the air in this room? – Mrs Pavlović asked us.

We sure did: the air was clean and fresh, not much different from mountain air, even though the windows were closed, and the heating was turned on.

 – Exactly. Therapy Air iOn is a state-of-the-art air purifier and ioniser that removes 99.9% of particulate pollutants. More precisely, it cleans as much as 62% of the surface area of about 40 square meters in just one hour! It eliminates particles of viruses, bacteria and toxic substances and keeps the levels of dust, temperature and humidity in your home or office under control. At the same time, it enriches the air with negative ions, which have been scientifically proven to eliminate all forms of viruses – she explains.

Therapy Air iOn boasts an innovative six-level filter system as well as a negative ion generator that produces about 1,236,000 negative ions per cm3, which corresponds to the quantity of ions in the air in some of the healthiest places on Earth. Its maintenance is very simple; it only requires the replacement of the filters once a year.

 – I think we can all agree that it is easier to replace a filter than a lung – says our interviewee.

We breathe in more than 11.000 litres of air every day, and we spend the vast majority of our time indoors, where the level of pollutants and allergens in the air is often significantly higher than outside. As a result, purifiers have become more relevant than ever, especially during the autumn and winter seasons, when colds and flu are running rampant.

Therapy iON has only recently gained great popularity, despite being on the market for over 15 years.

 – We, people, are all the same: as long as nothing hurts us, nothing is what we do. When the pandemic started, I insisted that analyses be performed at the Teaching Institute for Public Health “Dr. Andrija Štampar”, and they immediately gave Therapy Air iOn a seal of approval. I recently donated one to a hospital in Zagreb, where it proved beneficial for people with asthma and allergies. People with respiratory problems must keep it turned on while sleeping because it allows them to get a good night’s rest.

This device has already been declared the best air purifier by independent German experts for seven years in a row (from 2016 to 2022). And in April 2020, the respected German laboratory GUI Lab issued a certificate confirming that it also eliminates the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the air. Therefore, it is not surprising that it is getting more popular by the hour!

 – Covid is all around us, and we’ll have to make peace with that. However, I am glad that people have finally come to their senses and started taking better care of their health. I believe that Therapy iON should be an indispensable part of every household and office space. This especially goes for rooms where people smoke!

And indeed, today you can come across the device in many public institutions, hospitals and clinics, hotels and conference halls, i.e. closed spaces where a large number of people gather.

Zepter had in mind that we cannot always be around this device, so they came up with a brilliant solution in the form of a MyIon wearable air purifier: just hang it around your neck and it will protect you against viruses, bacteria, and airborne infections within a radius of one and a half meters.

 – As I often fly, I always wear it on the plane. I also wear it in all other crowded places. And I would like to make one thing known: none of us at Zepter have had Covid yet! – she concludes.

We, on the other hand, conclude that we must urgently seek our superiors to install one Therapy Air iOn in the editorial office. And throw some Zepter glasses in, too! Even though they are not yet considered mandatory personal protective equipment, something tells us that they are soon to be regarded as such…
